Plan Ahead

When I think of all of the things I have to do in the morning before work, the last thing I want to do is cook or make a smoothie. All of the measuring and blending I just don't have the time to do it, and if you're anything like me you like to sleep until the last minute. So, to save time I prep my smoothies at night.

I measure out all of my ingredients and place them into freezer bags. In the morning when I drag myself downstairs, I pull a pre-made smoothie bag out of the freezer, put it in the blender with 1 1/2 cups of almond or coconut milk and blend while I'm taking my vitamins. Once I grab my lunch out of the refrigerator my smoothie is done. I can pour it in a to-go cup and out the door I go.

Being prepared is the key to staying on track with your healthy lifestyle. For example, if I was not prepared (i.e. having my smoothie ready to go) I might end up at a fast food restaurant ordering one of their high calorie, high sugar smoothies. Which, I will pay for in the gym later that day working it all off.

So at the end of the day panning ahead will save me time in the gym later.
