Your Journey is Your Journey

Going to the gym can be very intermediating, it doesn't matter if it's your first day or a circle around the block back to the gym. There are a few things you will need MINDSET, WILL and MEANS.

The first step is always mindset. You have to have the MINDSET "beliefs that shape how you make sense of the world and yourself", to believe that you got this in the bag, you're on a new journey, are all a part of the mindset.

Next is the WILL "the capability of conscious choice and decision and intention". You have to want the journey for yourself. This cannot be done for anyone else, because if it is you may not see it through to the desired end. When you have the will for yourself it makes you push harder, gives you that get up and go for it, if I had to give it an analogy it would be the "pre-workout" to the MEANS and the "post-workout" to the MINDSET.

Lastly you need the MEANS. You have to have the means "an action or system by which a result is brought about". This is going to tie it altogether. It is thought that money and time equal the means. For example/excuse you need money to join a gym and you need time to go, both are so far from being true. Let's start with the money if you have gotten through all of the other steps by now some of your eating habits have changed those 1 or 2 $6.00 coffees a day (roughly $25.00 to 30.00 weekly) is a membership at a big named gym like Gold's or LA Fitness. So 1 week of coffee can get you 1 month at a gym, that same 1 week of coffee can get you 3 weeks at Planet Fitness (general membership). That same 1 week of coffee can buy you a few at home workout items from Five Below, TJ Maxx, Walmart or Ross. This last part goes hand and hand with time, you have to have time to make this whole journey work (there are many steps in this journey, that we will talk about in future blog post). You feel like you have no time to go to the gym, all of the gyms I listed are either 24 hour gyms or open at 5:00 am and close at 11:00pm. Since we're on a roll let me give you a few more "time" fixes OK so you went the at home workout route, resistance bands, hand and ankle weights are going to be your best choices. These items are small portable and pack a big punch. Take 20 mins in the morning before you shower for work and 20 mins before you shower for bed and get in a workout. You don't know what to do pull out your cellphone and 1 of the millions of Youtubers will show you what to do. These steps are all at your own pace. You set the pace for your own journey.
